Community Data Collection and Mapping Build-A-Thon

In partnership with Monument Lab and Mural Arts Philadelphia
February 19, 2017 - 1:00pm5:00pm

Kislak Center, 6th Floor, Van Pelt Library

Monument Lab is an exciting special project of Mural Arts Philadelphia that invites locals to imagine what would be appropriate monuments for the city. Participants can visit site-specific Labs located around the city and submit descriptions and drawings of the monument  they would like to see.  Monument Lab has teamed up with the Price Lab to devise a way to collect these proposals and map them so that they can be explored online.

That's what the Build-a-thon is for! Spend the afternoon experimenting with tool and prototyping solutions. A few tech experts will be be around to help out but we need people with a wide variety of technical and non-technical skills to help imagine, build and test. The build-a-thon will be a great chance to work on a fun project, meet new people, test out your skills and build new ones.

Open to anyone in the Penn community with an interest in Philly and a desire to learn about data collection and mapping tools.
