Rao is a junior in the College who spent the summer working with Dr. Sudev Sheth of the Lauder Institute and the Dept. of History to develop a database of metadata from substantial interviews that have appeared on the Indian government program Guftagoo. Guftagoo means “conversation” in Hindi, and every week the program airs a 30-90 minutes conversation between the host and a member of Indian cinema, from titans of Bollywood to lesser-known members of regional film industries in the subcontinent. The goal of this project is to create a resource for digital research on Indian culture.
