Zita C. Nunes, Associate Professor of English, teaches and conducts research in the area of African American/African Diaspora literatures from a pan-African and multilingual perspective.The author of Cannibal Democracy: Race and Representation in the Literature of the Americas (Minnesota UP, 2008), she is completing a monograph, Racism in Translation: Multilingualism, Comparative Literature, the Harlem Renaissance, and a bilingual digital edition of the Correio de África, a Black newspaper published in Lisbon, Portugal between 1921 and 1924.
