Katie Rawson

Director of Learning Innovation, Penn Libraries

Katie Rawson is the Director of Learning Innovation in the Univeristy of Pennsylvania's Libraries. Before Penn, Katie worked for the Robert W. Woodruff Library in 2016. She has a PhD from the Graduate Institute for the Liberal Arts at Emory University, an MA in English from the University of Mississippi, and a BA in English from the University of South Carolina.Katie has published on food in Faulkner, labor at Waffle House, collaboration in the academy, and data curation in the humanities. Before coming to Emory, she was the Coordinator for Digital Research and English librarian at the University of Pennsylvania. She is actively involved in studying and supporting digital research methods, particularly around text analysis and humanities data. Her current research is in menus and restaurant history. She also has experience with open access and multimedia publishing through her work as a Woodruff fellow in the Emory Center for Digital Scholarship, the managing editor of Southern Spaces, and one of the principal investigators of Curating Menus.
