Andrew W. Mellon Fellowships in the Digital Humanities
The Price Lab provides Mellon fellowships for Penn undergraduate and graduate students, standing faculty at Penn, and postdoctoral scholars who are either in the humanities or whose work engages questions of significant concern for the humanities. Newcomers seeking an introduction to emerging areas of DH research are welcome to apply, as are those with more advanced skills in digital methods.
One to Two Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowships are available each academic year. Awards carry a competitive, full-time stipend as well as other benefits. Scholars spend one year in residence at Penn and teach one undergraduate course in addition to conducting independent research. Annual calls for applications open in late spring and close on October 30th.

Twelve Andrew W. Mellon DH Fellowships are available to tenure-track faculty, full-time lecturers, and doctoral-level research staff in the humanities and allied fields. The awards carry a stipend of $5,000 (payable as salary) or, in limited cases, an optional 1 CU course buyout of up to $10,000.

Two fellowships are available for Penn ABD graduate students in the traditional humanities or in the humanistic social sciences. The fellowship provides full support for the 2018–19 academic year: tuition, a stipend of approximately $25,000, and health insurance.

Four Andrew W. Mellon Summer Fellowships for Penn undergraduate students are available to humanities majors and students from other Penn schools who are interested in using computational tools in a humanities research environment. Awards pay up to $4500 for ten weeks in summer 2018. Two research categories are available: Faculty-Led Projects and Independent Research.
